About Monticello Rod & Gun Club

Welcome to the Monticello Rod and Gun Club! We are a private club dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for shooting sports enthusiasts in the Monticello area.

Our Facilities

All year long, our members have access to a variety of ranges designed to accommodate different disciplines:

  • Pistol & Rifle Ranges (“A” and “B”): Two spacious 0 to 50-yard ranges offering an excellent backdrop for paper and non-deflective targets.
  • 100-Yard Rifle Range: Perfect for sighting in and long-distance practice.
  • Archery Range: A dedicated, archery-only range.
  • Trap Fields: Two well-maintained trap fields for our leagues and open shooting.

Please note: For safety reasons and out of respect for our neighbors, we do not allow steel targets, exploding targets, or anything that may cause a ricochet. We also ask that you limit prolonged rapid fire.

Community & Public Events

Although we are a private club, we strongly believe in supporting our local community. We welcome the public to join us for several events throughout the year, including:

  • Wednesday evening Summer and Fall Trap Leagues
  • Public practice trap shooting
  • Thursday evening Defensive Pistol & Carbine League
  • Fall Rifle Sight-In (just prior to deer hunting season)

Member Information

MR&GC Club shooting hours are 10:00 AM to sunset daily.

All members are required to sign in with their name and the names of any guests (limit 2 guests per member) at the sign-in box located on the grey board just inside the gate entrance. For the security of our facilities, you must lock the gate after you enter.

We hold a monthly membership meeting on the 4th Thursday of the month. During the warmer months (May–October), we host a special activity or event before the meeting starting at 5:00 PM, such as Cowboy Night, Veteran’s Night, Steak Fries, and Swap Meets. We encourage all members to come out, get involved, and have fun!
