Centuries ago our ancestors recognized that to provide game for our families so that we could thrive and grow, we had to maintain a healthy and productive environment for wildlife to thrive. Through intelligent conservation and responsible harvesting of game our heritage has lasted.

We actively promote this American tradition in the following ways:

Scholarships
Every year the Monticello Rod n Gun Club awards scholarships to young people interested in learning more about conservation. Applying for these scholarships is easy. Contact us for more details.

Firearm Safety Training for Youth
Each spring and fall the Monticello Rod n Gun Club offers Firearms Safety Training for Youth. We have a team of experienced instructors who have earned Minnesota DNR certification as Firearm Safety Instructors. Not only do students receive the required information to pass the DNR Hunter Safety test, but they also have access to more than 100 years of combined hunting experience offered by our instructors.

Minnesota Firearm Safety Classes are offered two times a year. In April a couple of weeks before the fishing opener and in the Fall the first Monday after Labor Day. Watch this web site and our calendar for the specific date and details.
